The knife's blade is made of a coated or uncoated 80CrV2 carbon steel. Coatings protect the otherwise rust-prone carbon steel from corrosion and reduces friction and the adhesion of dirt. PTFE (Teflon) coating also meets the requirements for food safety certification. The blade withstands rigorous use and can be easily sharpened again when needed.
